President's Report
This will be a short newsletter to match my short attention span on this very hot day. There is NO July SLDC meeting. Please use this time to recharge by doing whatever it is that makes you happy and less stressed.

This meeting will focus on understanding data centers and our candidates’ positions on them. We’ll be back to Inspire, The Coopersburg Community Center in September.
SLDC canvasses – During the summer months, there are local canvasses run by PA dems and our local candidates Meriam Sabih and Mark Pinsley. Housing request – PA Dems is asking if anyone has a spare bedroom for a campaign worker. Please contact [email protected] if you can help out.

Every Monday – Protest in front of Ryan Mackenzie’s office noon – 1 pm, 1125 South Cedar Crest Blvd. Bring your signs, get your spirit lifted.
Every Wednesday - Walk with the SLDC Blue Woman’s walking group on the Saucon Rail Trail. New start 9 am for the summer. Guys are also welcome to join us on that walk.
Every Thursday – Craftivists, 1-4 PM – Crafty activist women. Bring a hand craft, or just yourself! BYOB. Location rotates contact southern[email protected] to get on their reminder list.
Did You Know...?
Two of our SLDC members visited the Equal Justice Initiative’s Legacy Sites in Montgomery, Alabama. Anne said it was a powerful experience to honestly confront the history of racial Injustice in America.
But the message was surprisingly hopeful as well. To quote EJI’s founder Bryan Stevenson:
"We will remember.
With hope, because hopelessness is the enemy of justice.
With courage, because peace requires bravery.
With persistence, because justice is a constant struggle.
With faith, because we shall overcome."
The Legacy Sites include The Legacy Museum, The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, Freedom Monument Sculpture Park, and Montgomery Square.

Code of Conduct - YES! We have one!
As a reminder at a recent LCDC meeting, the code of conduct was brought up and club leaders were asked to share the official COD. Southern Lehigh Democrats - PA State Democrats (SLDC) Code of Conduct (the link is also available at the bottom of every SLDC webpage). In a nutshell, it asks us all to be kind to each other. We have the same goals and need to work together.

Big Blue Thank you to Laura and Luis for helping set up for our summer picnic and for all of you for bringing delicious food! We had perfect weather and a great turnout. This was our 6th Annual Picnic!
