About Us

Southern Lehigh Democratic Committee (SLDC) is an inclusive group of progressive Democrats who live in Southern Lehigh School District. We were started by a small group of dedicated Precinct Committee People in 2019 with the goal of getting voters to the polls and helping our community. We have monthly meetings, events, or jam sessions. Our jam sessions are informal meetings where we talk about campaigns, our goals and upcoming events. 

Mission Statement:  The mission of the Southern Lehigh Democratic Committee is to bring people together to build an active Democratic community in Lower Milford, Upper Saucon, and Coopersburg—supporting local, state and federal candidates, sharing information, and encouraging voter participation.

What is a Precinct Committee Person (PCP)?

Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs) are the Democratic Party’s local leaders—serving as voting members of the Lehigh County Democratic Committee (LCDC) and representing their neighborhood. Up to two Democrats serve per precinct, elected to four-year terms.

PCPs are the front line of grassroots democracy. As a trusted neighbor, you help keep your community informed about elections, candidates, and how to get involved.

PCPs take action—registering voters, supporting Get Out The Vote efforts, sharing campaign information, and connecting with voters at the polls. It’s meaningful, flexible work that truly impacts local elections.
